dont bother this is no sport anymore its all-in-wreasling game show it died last race 2 years ago, and I used to shout for Jim Clarke as a child ,have not watched sinse so what ever gimicks who cares
@colinmcnally5931 Says:
I made the mistake of watching it yesterday!! What a codge up of utter nonsense. Cars going in the wall, red flags and interruptions abound!! Its a farce!! Just adds to the worsening state of affairs since the Americans took over.
@Reso205 Says:
Its called the F1 circus, but its now a full CLOWN show
@900108Chale Says:
DISlike! They just complicated the whole weekend. *As a hardcore fan with no schedule issues, am I willing to spend THREE days in a row watching my sport? NOPE!* I have a life! Which happens to happen on the weekends…. Less practice time means Much Higher risks no time to test, correct and or fix. Which means accidents will probably increase and safety will decrease. Too hectic!
@AB7F9 Says:
Sprint detracts from the grandprix.
@beauty.of.the.struggle Says:
How in the world is putting "unmissable" sessions across all 3 days considered a "win"?
@tashriquekarriem8865 Says:
Want to make F1 racing more exciting then release safety car 😂, easy peasy lol.
@travissmith1303 Says:
They took the good sprint format and totally ruined it.
@travissmith1303 Says:
This is going to be horrible... they will change this
@anthonyhartley6098 Says:
I think your talking out of your ass it will be a great weekend😃
@True60RS Says:
Lol. It’s a global sport. Someone is always at work while f1 is on tv.
@dyezmordz6390 Says:
Everyone crying now but their gonna love it
@qwertyrobbo101 Says:
'You cant miss Friday qualifying' err yes I can, I'm at work. The old/ standard weekend layout means that the majority of the audience can watch the qualifying and the race over the weekend, with the hard core fans watching on catch up
@bjwal6 Says:
Who on earth cares about how many laps in a weekend? This is a great change for overall viewer engagement on all 3 days. Your reservations are.. weird.
@monaromadness2539 Says:
It depends if you view Formula 1 as a sport or entertainment. I viewed it as a sport, and have been watch since the 80's. In my view sprint racing is not sport, and is bring the whole of F1 down a few levels, and it's starting to put me off. If i wanted entertainment i would watch nascar , which i don't. ... it's not F1 and i'm with Max on this one.
@Jackbyrne77 Says:
“You can’t miss Friday qualifying” Okay. Sorry what about people who have jobs and have to work? Ah you made that point straight away!! Great!! What’s the incentive for drivers below 8th to compete in the Sprint if it’ll only use up their engine reliability? Rubbish motorsport. Pretty shameful to hear Jonathon Noble’s approval of this kind of motorsport being applied to F1.
@KeithCaptain Says:
I like the new Sprint format. Less impact on the race proper. Qualifying will be at 10pm on Friday night in Australia. Quite civilised compared to other time zones.
@robzee-4895 Says:
F1 has become a dogs breakfast
@pioshelby7611 Says:
Why not put the Sprint qualifying on Friday and race qualifying on Saturday morning?
@ralphe5842 Says:
More nonsense and no I'm not going to waste a whole weekend to watch BS races gimmick have become the norm
@mtzerhouni Says:
Seems like more risk for very little reward. Add the costs cap and the hours of prep lost and it really takes away from the Grand Prix. F1 needs to decide if it wants to be a sport or a spectacle.
@Jay-nk6dm Says:
theres ways to solve this. f1 has an issue: managing tradition and managing excitement. another problem f1 is going through is managing old tracks with new tracks. what they can do, is let the old tracks get the sprint weekends so that theres an element of newness at old venues, while new tracks dont need this extra spice. that way its a win win
@erasmus_locke Says:
If they really want an exciting sprint make it a reverse championship order and the very first session of the race weekend. Lean into the craziness and jeopardy. No practice just race it straight out of the trailer.
@aaronaustin-c4u Says:
I think Liberty is primarily trying to increase their revenue. Friday, FP1 and FP2 one hour each Saturday, GP Qualifing. Sprint race 1/3 GP distance, 1/3 GP points, start grid is reverse order of finish at last GP. Sunday, FP3 30 minutes, GP. Disclaimer: I did not put much thought into this.
@IamHailey8 Says:
I dont get why the surprise of quali on Friday....The qualifying during a sprint race weekend was always on a Friday. The change is to have a sprint quali on Saturday instead of PF2.....
@zofo1961 Says:
Just a total lack of respect to the fans, had weeks to decide now with only a few days to go 🙄anyway i wanna see refueling back
@Malachi_Marx Says:
F1 just needs to simply adopt the same format that F2 runs. Sprint and feature EVERY week. No muss, no fuss, simple. F2 always has better on-track product than F1.
@steenmolving9973 Says:
You only have to programme quali to be recorded, and watch it after work.
@JeffStone0 Says:
In the age of DVRs... I have no Idea what Martyn is on about. Also, it's a global sport. Someone always misses out on 'live' viewing on a given race weekend.
@johnbarker5009 Says:
I kind of like setting the race starting order with the sprint finishing order, but I get why the teams aren't wild about it.
@BungleBare Says:
Practice 1 on Friday? There’s only one session. Surely it should just be called Practice?
@rottieshepcalibre9156 Says:
Qualifying on race day before the GP. Keep Saturday qually and sprint race. Friday have 2 split practice sessions 1 hour each. Put my cheque in the post
@philspencelayh5464 Says:
The losers, any F1 fan, Liberty are just turning the sport into a circus. Plenty clowns
@nicholashh Says:
WHAAAAAAT??
@haosongli1698 Says:
need to stop inventing
@peter-paulbeckman3627 Says:
i hate this format i hate sprint races; F1 should be free practise no problem on friday can not see it anyway due my work then quali o yeah on saturday race on sunday; i wil not watch a sprintrace at all
@medellin528 Says:
Greater challenge for Everyone ALL THE SPORTS EVERY DAY FORMULA ONE JUST SUNDAY
@Sandouras Says:
So there's a race weekend and in the middle of it, a smaller semi-relevant race out of nowhere. Like... why? This is truly a circus.
@Mike-jz8hr Says:
You r wrong😊😊😊😊
@Richie5903 Says:
Absolutely pointless having sprint races at all now .. as the sprints have nothing to do with the main race at all , what's the point in taking any risks at all during the sprint ? Cost cap means teams won't take meaningless risks .. especially for a whole 6 points lmao. If I was a back grid team I'd maybe do a handful of laps to check the car and then park up in the garage. Front grid teams won't take any risks and will just hold positions , will probably even see them driving relatively "slow" checking setup and the car. Completely dumb choice compared to what they had
@creekboi7 Says:
The format won't be an issue this weekend for me, the time zone will be though. Sleep deprivation weekend (cue Formula 1 intro)!
@davidribeiro6172 Says:
I’ve seen a lot of people complaining that this won’t change the pecking order much, sure, RB are still probably gonna be the fastest but the lack of an FP2 could make things really interesting. The teams are really going to have to manage their time in FP1 to set up their cars so they’re optimal for Quali, yet also good in race trim. IN my opinion this should lead to some interesting results, such as teams like Ferrari, Merc, or Aston maybe getting they’re Quali or Race trim wrong, and teams like Haas, Mclaren, Alpine, Alfa and Williams maybe establishing better race or Quali trims then the top 4.
@conallmclaughlin4545 Says:
Brilliant, get to miss qualifying in Friday because like most others, I'll be working. No point watching the sprint, probably take the wife shopping, will be more fun. Then race on Sunday. What a shambles F1 has become
@streuthmonkey1 Says:
Formula One should be a sport which entertains. Not entertainment claiming to be a sport based on a history the current owners have bought in to.
@ascari6790 Says:
The more you change the recipe, the worse the cake gets until it's not a cake anymore. Beware of you're actions FIA.
@davideg5947 Says:
They need more testing. How about a second practice session on Saturday?
@eleycki Says:
How will C4 cover this? All at 1am maybe? Great. Gotta luv the paywall.
@StigPlayer Says:
FIA give me free time whole weekend and maybe like that . . .
@johnc1871 Says:
I think it just dilutes down the greatness and intensity of one Saturday qualifying and one Sunday race. Plus I love casually following the practice sessions as I’m winding down for the weekend. I’m with Martyn!
@forteanape2252 Says:
The changes for sprints, especially this weekend, will throw a load of people. Quali for the race during most people's working hours, for one, is going to be weird. I'll be driving my 10yo to her first Scout Camp, so will have to record it!
