"Unbreakable" Red Bulls vs "Lonely" Alonso - Miami GP 2023 Review 2023

????

Max Verstappen shone during the 2023 Miami Grand Prix, blasting from 9th to 1st and holding a significant lead over the rest of the pack for most of the race. Perez's alternative tyre strategy couldn't keep up, whilst Alonso, Ferrari and Mercedes just can't match up... but were there glimpses of hope? Jon Noble and Martyn Lee talk about everything from the Miami Grand Prix, and even look to how the upcoming Imola / Monaco / Barcelona triple-header may provide some grounds to let Alonso fight Red Bull for real. 0:00 Verstappen's Storm 1:56 Perez's Fight 3:04 Red Bull's Balance 4:04 Alonso Wants More 6:06 Ferrari's Woes 8:01 The "Nasty" Mercedes 9:47 Just Miami Things 12:28 Miami Night Race 14:39 Imola's Hopes #f1 #miami #formula1 FOLLOW us online: Website: https://www.autosport.com/ Facebook: http://facebook.com/AUTOSPORT Twitter: https://twitter.com/autosport Instagram: http://instagram.com/autosport Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, and subscribe!

What if you don't allow the use of DRS for certain races so we can see if it's better for racing or not.
@wigglesnail3803 Says:
Entire world talking about how its bad that F1 and especially the American races are just ridiculously expensive. Meanwhile Autosport talking about how great it is that the normal fan cant afford to go anymore. Very sad, Shows how out of touch you lot are.
@Whatreally123 Says:
Checo's championship? Never going to happen. He's a good driver at best. Max is on a different league altogether. The guy literally has just 1 race win on merit. All his other wins at RB have come when Max had had issues. It just seems salty Lewis fans who hate Max have now become deluded Checo fans.
@philspencelayh5464 Says:
Unbreakable Red Bull, according to max a little "kiss" mid corner last time out was a catastrophe plotted by those evil monsters at Mercedes
@michaeldellorso889 Says:
They can do a night race. Too bad if it doesn’t work for Europe. Europe has had the entire history of F1 on it’s schedule
@Rodejong Says:
No way he is in the hunt. Perez wins only on street tracks. There are 8, 4 done, 2 lost. We have 18 races to go. 14 old school tracks. Verstappen will walk away from Perez as Perez is not a consistent driver. Perez is a great driver, don't get me wrong, but as soon as Verstappen is dialed in, he'll keep driving the same. Perez is constant overthinking.
@Conservator. Says:
I’d say ‘unbeatable’ instead of ‘unbreakable’.
@hoverpilder1905 Says:
Let's see, Max passing 7 cars in the first 14 laps went 47 with Hard tyres and posting fastest laps with the same Hard Tyres. and finishing the final 10 laps with Fresh Mediums? He was simply unstoppable this weekend. Masterclass. Checo has nothing to be ashamed of with P2
@timgriffith9149 Says:
all this talk about tires. people forget how many teams started on the Med vs the hards. it not that RB was favoring Max. Ham was on the hards as well. even pirelli said to use the Meds. just sows how rent free max is in peoples heads.
@karthikkulkarni9458 Says:
From where this notion of Aston dosent like hard tyres started? Alonso was banging in impressive lap times on hards
@96wtfomg Says:
COTA is a race in the US and it doesn't have the amount of cringeness this GP has. Florida in general is an unhinged place. Can't wait for Vegas to top it in that regard.

Seen a lot of empty seats 💺 at the race despite SKY saying over and over how fantastic the crowd was 😅
@alcoyne3333333333333 Says:
Funny how more experienced Hamilton can't get the balance right but GR csn ? When is GR going to get the credit he deserves instead of Lewis Lewis Lewis 😤
@rcwardawg Says:
I am sorry but you spent as much time justifying extremely high prices as you did on the race, they are not sustainable. If you want a sport to be for everyone you cant price the majority of the people out and only the "celebrities" who show up to be seen are there. I got real tired of hearing oh here is this celebrity and this celebrity etc. I want to watch the race I could care less what Roger Federer has to say about the race. Europeans asking for a night race so they dont have to stay up late for it is a bit much. Considering what others go through to watch the European races.
@alcoyne3333333333333 Says:
Funny how so many Hamilton fans given out that Checo isn't being treated the same as max .. don't you fans remember bottas 😮 always sent out on different strategies for Lewis to defend his Butt. And remember. Coming acrosst the radio to bottas .( its James let Lewis passed ) 😢
@ukps9632 Says:
Absolute state. Max was setting quicker times on 21 lap older hards, pure disrespect to a truly GOATED performance

11:10 - Poooo IRT miami night race. Just do it on Saturday night. Problem solved. Duh
@doorgedraaid399 Says:
Do Jon Noble and Martyn Lee both have the same sponsor for their glasses as also Tommy of P1 with Matt and Tommy ?? You all have the same glasses..( just an observation )
@hammadkaimkhani7632 Says:
Checo thrives on 90 degree turns. That's why he was better in baku
@kennethroberts9329 Says:
I feel like 90% of the races take place pre-dawn or early Sunday for me anyway…I live in Florida….if the sport is going to grow in the US the focus has to shift from a European time frame…(I’m sure the Australians would agree)
@riancastermans1607 Says:
Perez is not at the Max's level. He had new hard tires. Max's tires were 21 laps older. He was faster than Sergio. As Christian said: Max would've won also by Checo's strategy
@BIBIWCICC Says:
The childish display at NASCAR - This is why we need to remove F1 from America. America doesn’t have the maturity for the professional F1 motorsport.
@bennwaters5851 Says:
Max will be the F1 GOAT by the time his career is finished.
@rulifaller8474 Says:
“It is not going to come down to pace”. Yeah right. 18 more races, Checo can compete on pace in maybe about 4.Even if he wins all 4 and finishes second every time Max wins, that still leaves him needing a lot of bad luck for Max. If other teams do get closer at some point in the season it looks even worse for Checo.
@wngimageanddesign9546 Says:
Tire choice proved vital in this race. Checo should have started on the hards like Max. The Hondas are so superior to their competitors that starting on hards would not have given Checo a disadvantage to those around him. And he gets to keep a check on Max's tire wear. The mediums went away due to a fully fueled car. He never developed a significant lead for the finish on hards.
@wngimageanddesign9546 Says:
Alonso cursed himself with the Honda Hex! After criticizing Honda's PU when he was at McLaren, it comes back to bite him and his chance for a win or 2nd place this year. Honda's PU is the most powerful and reliable on the grid. Only if Max and Checo take each other out will he have an opportunity.
@petermaltha Says:
Let the FIA stop fiddling with the format of Gran Prix racing,
@taradeviwest9351 Says:
Yeah, do u know how hard is to watch race live at 3.55am..? it's a norm to us in asian side of this planet yet the market is so large.. ❤️🤍🦬🦬❤️🤍
@steviehope7718 Says:
A tedious season already
@matsie3134 Says:
Yeah, the 20 lap older hard tires of Max explains why he was faster than Perez on fresh tires. Come on my Brittish old fellows, just acknowledge Max was from another planet yesterday and brutally put Perez in his place.
@kevinhogg9494 Says:
F1 is no longer a sport, it’s a money making exercise
@liviuemanuel82 Says:
I love Max, but I really want a win for Alonso this year !
@TL-xw6fh Says:
Mercedes' performance. The difference lies in the driver.
@DennisDinges Says:
For me it’s becoming more interesting to see Max starting farther back, than on pole
@steelssstu6515 Says:
BORING BORING RACE😢what a rubbish season,it's so boring and MAX is a horrible moaning person to be a champion,only 1 car in the race😢,what a rubbish season so far
@fillusrahim-xy9ib Says:
That why you go to show biz not sports..... results in not 100 percent race..very poor
@fillusrahim-xy9ib Says:
In Baku Azerbaijan...cars set up not 100 percent due to sprint race ...not perfect for teams...free practice too short...
@garymartin9777 Says:
Remember that neither Mad Max nor Checo ran hards with full fuel during practice. Max had no real clue how starting on hards would work. To go 45 laps and still have life left in the tires is magic. Checo came in far too early to get off mediums He should have stayed out 20 or more laps so the hards wouldn't be dead at the end of the race.
@driesvanoosten4417 Says:
Isn't it a bit optimistic to claim that it is small differences between Max and Perez? The only races where it came down to these so called small differences was when Max started from halfway down the grid!
@matpk Says:
Boring 💩 IndyCar much better
@catchnkill Says:
Night race is not for everyone. Race organizer should think carefully. In many circuits the location are a bit remote from city centres. There is safety concern when the race ends in late night. There will be 20K or 30K audience needs to travel back to their hotels safely. This is not an issue from Singapore but not necessarily the same case in other part of the world.
@mrbungle3310 Says:
I get 2020 vibes from this season...alonso is the max,and a wishfully optimistic 2nd driver to the champion Perez/Bottas failing....so yeah ,at least 2020 had 2-3 shock wins This red bull is good for overtskes,mercedes was super dominant but they could get stuck behind
@turbski666 Says:
As an American, i had to wake up at 4am for the Baku grand prix. All you Europeans whine so much when races aren't at convenient times 😂
@michaelgideon8944 Says:
Autosport/Motorsport: Please put up a poll of fans so we can vote our opinions of the ridiculous pre-race synthetic hype that we were all forced to endure. I don't think FOM realizes that American fans aren't expecting WWE or monster trucks. The driver intros were awful. There's still time to make changes to Vegas and not have this complete cringe.
@Coyotehello Says:
rooting for Checo!
@ramontas-b5r Says:
Some people, pundits fans and media from rival teams still underestimate Max race craft skill and his tire management!..in these race he show that he also can manage his tires better than anyone, checo included!
@southerncomfort1339 Says:
Mercedes is "Screwing SLH" Royaly!!!! How do u "F-Up" a race car in 1year???
@mgers75 Says:
Autosport needs to get ahold of the influencer's F1 basic knowledge test and leake it. Im pretty sure I could get 100%
@user-zz6iv2ou6f Says:
Perez was given little to no information about Max. Max was given all the info he needed. One driver could navigate conditions and his competition. The other was disadvantaged. Checo was also told Max was doing lift and coast when Max was doing push laps. Red Bull deliberately skewed this result. If I can deduce that, then these journalists ought to be able to piece together the qualitative and quantitative data.
@Angry_Squirrel555 Says:
I’m wondering if we’ll see this reverse tire strategy with Red Bull going forward. It definitely worked today but I suppose it may not work everywhere or depending on starting position. Great job again by Verstappen! Imagine the battle though if Alonso was in the other Red Bull.
