It was Horner who brought him back as a "reserve driver" and " in ambassador" in 2023. This resulted in Daniel being there to pick up the pieces when de Vries was canned. Now he seems hellbent on giving him every chance to replace Perez, as well as let him continuing to retain his seat at RB this year despite abysmal results. This is why Horner is leaving Lawson hanging in the wind. Lawson should have already replaced Daniel in the last couple of months at RB.

22:20: Russell was 20 seconds plus behind Perez after the pit stop. He had to make up a second plus a few tenths a lap to catch Perez and then find a way to make the pass. This seemed like a big ask. His advance pretty much stalled out after the gap dropped down under 10 seconds. He finished 5 seconds back gaining a couple of seconds at the finish as Perez backed off.

At the start of the race, Max clearly had the fastest car and should have won the race but had an unusual tire degradation problem caused by his car's race day setup problem.
Monza will be Max's race win. Ha-ha

Lando Norris did not dominate the race as much as Max managed the race. The Red Bull team decided to give Max a newly designed floor to qualify & race with.
At the beginning of the race, the team realized that the car was very heavy on tire wear, so Max switched to race management mode to save their engine / mechanics.
Just like LeClerc did, when he had the fastest car, once Lando got the lead, he pushed the car's limits to needlessly to drive home his advantage on the day. ha-ha
LeClerc knew that Max was managing the race, so he did not push his car's limits.

It’s kinda funny to think that if Lando wins all of the last 9 races with Max finishing 2nd in all of them, Lando loses the title by 7 points…. 🇭🇺
