I have zero interest in LIV or merging with them. It's not the golf I want to see...and they can go pound sand with their prince. On the other hand Jay Monaghan is a clown and should be removed.
@2Thes22 Says:
Apart from the Majors and Players, there could be 10 elite events - 1 per month with 2 in Feb. This would be 15 events with players required to play a minimum of 5 regular tour events on PGA Tour and/or DP World Tour. The 10 elite events would be.a combination of WGC, Signature Events and LIV with an individual component and an optional Team component. The Elite Events would be jointly owned by PIF, PGA Tour and DP World Tour and they all benefit financially. Elite players required to play in regular Tour events would also support the rank and file players and allow a pathway to these Elite events. The Elite events would follow the LIV format with shotgun start and up to 72 players. There would still be a 3 month off season from early October to early February. Players would play on average 3 events per month from Feb to September with 1 in October.
@2Thes22 Says:
As a European, Rory wants more international events. LIV can deliver this. PGA does not want to. Also PGA Tour wants to be in charge of everything, including PIF golf money. They are delusional and needs to be brought down to earth. Signature Events and OWGR are irrelevant.
@2Thes22 Says:
PIF/LIV has all the money and their vision will eventually prevail. The sooner the PGA Tour and players realize that, the stronger their position.
@eddycangolf Says:
Lav, I'm sorry but you're an idiot. Why do we keep talking about "reuniting the game" and how the tour is so ripped apart. The game doesn't need unification. The only issue that needs to get resolved how the PGA Tour treats ALL players. They don't need to look far for a formula - NBA, NFL got it right. Why are we making this so complicated? It's very simple. PGA Tour is a far far better product than LIV - point, blank, period. LIV and PIF can keep dumping money into a crappy bush league that will never amount to nothing. The tour should just carry on and keep improving what they have.
@bobbygoodman2875 Says:
His 2nd rejection means he's an idiot. How many times is this FOOL willing to demonstrate he's a silly fool. The PGA has become a joke, offering the usual suspects key positions and gaudy sums of money. What has Eldrick done in his career that demonstrates he is qualified to sit on ANY Board? He's uncomfortable speeking publicly and awful at it. He isn't very bright. He's a selfish loner who has an easy time dismissing good friends, female partners, caddies, business partners...he doesn't have a loyal fiber in his body. So, the better golfer you are, the smarter you are??? Perhaps it's time the PGA make playing PGA members their Star not a very flawed individual who is closing in on 50 and over the hill. Maybe tgey should come up with another $100m and send him away to prepare for the Senior Tour.

Bunch of clowns on this channel
@tigerbalm666 Says:
Tiger's opinions is worth 0...He's proven to be a POS of a human being.
@DavidBedell654 Says:
The only people who have ripped golf apart are Norman and Michelson.
@wynandvanhuyssteen4585 Says:
Definitely applauding the Management for the invites to LIV guys. DATAGOLF ROCKS!
@garyszewczyk6577 Says:
Another sport ruined by money there isn't any stars but a group of avg golfers except one
@tohmsono5081 Says:
PIF didn't want him getting involved any more in order to continue negotiations in good faith
@Steyrshrek1 Says:
It also might be the fact that Rory has put what he wants out there which puts the PGA into a weaker bargaining position. It’s like walking into a car dealership and saying I love this car and will pay anything for it then trying to negotiate a price.
@atfinthehouse8631 Says:
And WHY does golf need to be “brought together “. Please explain. Include the real discussions of the elephants in the room.
@atfinthehouse8631 Says:
Get real, this isn’t about what is good for golf. This is about protecting the dollars for those top players who think they can win and are threatened by others who play golf. This is big business and marketing by manufacturers of clothes, footware, equipment, golf clubs, golf courses.
@korbinsworld24 Says:
The PGA policy board is the lone entity dividing golf.
@tonymccosh5875 Says:
That was a good 10 min of Lav talking about himself.
@joso5554 Says:
This whole chat about Rory’s vision and Cantlay’s vision and whichever Saudi prince’s vision is totally foggy and meaningless. Why can’t you just be explicit and explain what these visions are and what the main debates are actually about ? The only 2 elements that I noted are : - whether a future global elite tour should be significantly less US centered and travel more around the world (like the DPWT does!), despite the US players discomfort ; - what the proper balance should be between huge prizes and benefits for the star players, and the condition that the average rank and file players have to live with. I personally would introduce another topic which is prize equality between men and women tours, and especially grand slam championships prizes. The current huge gap is extremely embarrassing and shameful. What are the other topics being debated, and what are the standings of the different stakeholders about these???
@craigcrawford6749 Says:
Backstabbing beta. Nobody likes p****s like that
@tomyandrade Says:
Not sure why this podcast is so pro liv … it’s just too much there should be a mention like sponsored by LIV
@wbwright79 Says:
there are more than just PGA players involved in the Rory thing. there is a new multi-billion dollar owners' input as well, regardless of whether this was mentioned or not.
@wreckim Says:
The PGA Tour now has some ridiculous purses for these signature events...basically LIV level stuff. Are they worth it? Are the players worth it? I don't thinks so, but it doesn't matter. LIV has changed the game to a more lucrative, and less competitive game thanks to Tiger basically. Tiger has grown the game way beyond it's historical demos. Now players make buckets by finishing 5th etc.. But nowhere is this more true than on LIV...guys collecting good cash even when they shoot in the high 70s or even in the 80s. BTW, there are tons of events now on the PGA Tour for the lower class players...there are like 45 events altogether on the PGA Tour. I remember when it was like 30, and hardly any golf after The PGA until January etc..
@edwardcreighton2638 Says:
PGA tour keeps giving Rory money, PIF, equity etc. Easy to see why rank and file may not always welcome his thoughts. Great pod as usual.
@adrianalley700 Says:
As good as Tiger the player was, time and time again he proves himself to be an absolute POS as a person that i wouldn't want him to be anywhere near the shaping of the PGAT going forward.
@stefanmuller9653 Says:
The issue with the PGA the last year or two is that every big name player barring Scotty has pretty much shit the bed with their performance. I dont think many people go to events to go see Scotty play as primary reason. Tney go to see Spieth, Rory, JT, Ricky hoping that they will win. Its come to a point where you have to start rooting for Scottie just to not be dissapointed. It took a while for the media to really attach to Scottie but since this year they are really blowing Scottie's horn now as if he's the new Tiger while that may be the case its more to get people to get reinvested in the PGA Tour by following Scottie rather than losing interest in golf because their usual stars are failing every week
@georgedelaney7085 Says:
Personally I don't care if LIV were to die tomorrow. The business model works only as long as the PIF supports it. It is no more than a toy to entertain the Saudi prince and sooth his ego. There is no way that golf can support paying players 100's of millions with revenue generated by the tournaments. Right now LIV gets virtually zero money from TV. It never will as long as most of the tournaments are on live in the middle of the night. It is what killed the WGCs. Most of the WGCs wound up in the US and were eventually just absorbed by the TOUR. As far as team golf goes. When do you play it? In the fall? If I am a US player I am not going to compete against a Rahm or whoever that is getting paid a couple 100 million just to show up and I am there for the prize money. There is no way that you can pay 50 or so players $100 million a piece to show up at a venue that is 12 hours on the clock from the US. Who is your audience? China? The reason the TOUR and especially the LPGA have the best players is that the US is the only place that can fund these events and make a profit.
@stefanmuller9653 Says:
What was the merit on the Reed invite to the PGA? Kinda weird, he hasnt really moved the needle in individual play since joining LIV?
@stefanmuller9653 Says:
Were players offered money to vote for Cantlay? Because I can't imagine a world where even one player would vote for him to be their representative.
@aussiegolfer59 Says:
Finally a body starting realise the owgp are out dated
@alanfinn77 Says:
I was a Tiger fan since forever! That just changed!! I thought he had developed some humility over the last few years turns out that was all an act and the guy cares about one person and that is Tiger Woods
@alanfinn77 Says:
Cantlay and Spieth have such inflated egos
@alanfinn77 Says:
Tiger for me is lining his own pockets and looking after his own interests and not those of the game! Shameful and Rory has been thrown under the bus a second time by the PGA Tour the guy put himself in the firing line defending the pga tour when LIV started and we all know what happened there!
@oahujuniorgolfassociationc6656 Says:
It’s also possible everyone is just tired of Rory. Anyone who doesn’t think Gooch belongs in majors doesn’t know golf. Data golf has him 35. But he really belongs higher. It would be pretty hard to get all the LIv players to boycott for Gooch, but they would do it for themselves later. Helps to be a teachers pet. But imo The pga tour needs all available names on hand and Adam Scott is a name, even Webb Simpson is a name at this point. Absolutely better golf course. What they did is restore what Mr Ross created. What a Name dropper. All casual at the end there.
@brianwalker4760 Says:
Tiger is screwing up the merger. He has always put himself above the tour and other players. Just because he’s older now doesn’t mean he cares any less about his interests first.
@pauljcross2289 Says:
Tiger wants to get total control...it will always be all about him
@pauljcross2289 Says:
They can all thank Phil...
@ThePgiannetti45 Says:
Rex is loyal PGA Tour media fanboy… can’t see the landscape is shifting and most important, golf fans loyalties are shifting. PGA Tour as we once knew it is done. LIV forced the change. The faster the dinosaurs can wake up to that, the better everyone will be.
@TheFailingHumanExperieme-ge4ov Says:
It's great to see these rich W man babies go at each other for more money and power. They would make great politicians. Love it.
@justapedn1 Says:
How does Jay Monahan still have a job?
@willstargate4381 Says:
Rory stepped down from being on the board or what I like to call it, "QUIT". Rory had his chance, he chose not to stick around, now he sees things moving in a certain direction and now he wants back. Maybe the other board members got mad that he "Quit" and just don't trust him. Nothing wrong with that.
@tomprevost2477 Says:
So Rex, I'm left guessing what Johnson Wagner said about webs sponsor exempts. you brought it up tell us.
@jimmywhat1448 Says:
Rory: What?.. LIV players got invites without OWGR?.. Greg Norman: I told you. 😊 Rory: That offer still on the table?. Grey Norman: 💸💸💸 lets talk.
@markanderson8006 Says:
I wish PIF would flex their muscles and just get Scheffler and McIlroy. They’ve got $700bn but they’re too tight with their money. They were able to get Rahm for $450m but unfortunately they’ll have to pay a lot more for the top two ranked golfers. The policy board members Woods and co have no desire to play outside of America apart from the Open. Pga tour has no appearance fees unlike DP World tour. Total Appearance fees in Asia are sometimes way more than total prize funds. Personally I only watch Majors and Ryder Cup I love golf but play it more than I watch it.
@josephboza7448 Says:
Eamon Lynch is such a shit starter. Lav knows how lucky he was by being at media day yesterday. If LIV is a topic, look out, Eamon will go off like Brandel will. I think Webb secretly is happy that Rory gave up on coming back to the board. Jay Monahan look like a hypocrite by telling the sig events you have to pick the board members. You dont call it a concidence that Webb and Adam Scott got 4 sponsor invittes into the sig events. The big boys dont want the LIV players back. Would Scottie Scheiffler be #1 if the LIV players came back. Scottie was a typical player before LIV was formed. After he has done his winning.
@bnegs521 Says:
Rory on the DOWNSIDE of his career. Hasnt won a major in forever... who cares what he thinks.
@nbt3663 Says:
Who is allowing the extra liv players, PGA or PGAT? It's the PGA's event. I wonder how the Tour feels about it. My guess is the Tour is hoping the anouncers will bad mouth the LIV players like at the Masters. The Tour is a dumpster fire and every move they make is clear they dont want anyone to know what kind of money the non-pro golfers rumning things are making (or something.) Theyre not accountable to anyone.
@herbertwilliams9092 Says:
I don’t care about Lav’s round of golf no more than he cares about mine; just ended podcast
@herbertwilliams9092 Says:
The US Open is no longer the US open; under par scores should be the exception; par or one or two over or one or two under should be the winning score; the USGA must now be spooked to set it up like it used to be; the US Open should have no resemblance to the Bob Hope Desert Classic
@Jackielikeskillersmiles Says:
You don’t see the endgame Lav! There is a reason for the hold out for them not coming together at this point & time
@tomdallas3690 Says:
Rory McIlroy only looks out for himself. He is dishonest at his core. He even sued his managers to get out of paying tens of millions in fees. He also called off his wedding to Carolyn Wozniaki after the wedding invitations went out. He did so with a three-minute phone call and he never spoke with her again (she thought he was joking). He went on to win two majors in the months just after that, but karma caught up with him. His a choking loser. I suspect he is getting a divorce soon.
