If this was Ferrari everyone would be questioning their car...0.8s faster than last year! Why do RB get a pass?

Lando needs to move a.s.a.p! McLaren, is not only slow, it has one of the worst liveries in the history of F1, it's a mess. It's McLaren in name only. This isn't the title winning team run by Ron Dennis, there's no reason to expect they will ever be a front running team again. Zak Brown isn't Ron Dennis.
@Rascallucci Says:
Ferrari is basically in the same boat as Mercedes. Even in quali (supposedly the stronger suit of the SF-23), it still wasn't reaching the projected pace on the simulator. The car was supposed to be 1" faster than last year's F1-75, as it turned out it was just over 0.5" faster than Charles' last year pole time. In the end, it really didn't matter where the car would qualify, even when Charles gave up his last run in Q3 to be able to start on a brand new pair of softs in the race, Verstappen was still running away at will from the get-go. Charles couldn't even keep up, let alone pass. Although he managed to pass Perez at the start of the race, it didn't last as the pace fell victim to poor tire deg. That tells me the SF-23 has no chance if the goal of 2023 is to win which it is. The question is whether there is any point in churning out upgrades just for the sakes of churning out upgrades? Even if Ferrari could beat Aston Martin and end up coming 2nd in the championship, it would still be a failed campaign. They already came 2nd last year. In other words, they might as well start working on the 2024 car now. They should try to come up with a superior alternative concept to Red Bull from a clean slate as opposed to trying to "evolve" from a substandard and losing F1-75. Failing that they should just copy Red Bull and improve the car from that point as at least you would get close or closer to the RB18 from last year and see how you could build upon it to chase after the RB19.

What if Mercedes just goes "this season is already doomed, lets just finish lower down the order so we can get more wind tunnle time for next year

Behold the new f1 overlord....
@jealva Says:
Mercedes biggest problem is that Aston Martin has the best racing driver in Alonso and he doesn’t need the fastest car to get outstanding results.
@kriskr8178 Says:
That's Red Bull for armchair fans and punditry, both in Bahrain testing and race weekend practice sessions Red Bull had created an Mirage of struggling or sandbagging. Then on Saturday Q3, the bulls were rampant abruptly and snatched pole position from Leclerc easily by 0.400 Tenths. Again on race day, although Perez had one of his customary poor start within few laps Verstappen flew off into the distance and Perez made a very light work of catching and passing Leclerc on the race track. Both Bulls cruised to the flag and still finished 40 seconds clear of Alonso in P3. Scary prospect for 2023, however well earned or deserved REDBULL
@parmvirvirk8959 Says:
It's already over. RB will march away with it. For Merc to have a customer in AMR beat them convincingly is the final nail in the coffin that their current concept is dead.
@jamesletts2209 Says:
After going from RB domination at the start of last decade to Merc domination, I honestly can’t handle yet another era of RB domination with MV having it so easy! At least at the start of the Merc dominance, Rosberg was able to challenge Lewis!
@VicharB Says:
Interesting first race with battles in the mid. Glad to see WilliamsF1 scored a point as well. Sadly RB was too quick and ahead of the rest. :p
@oulton101 Says:
formula one should be renamed formula red bull
@RoyaleDistrict Says:
F1 over that last decade has been difficult to watch when there are battles everywhere on the track but 1st
@faustopoli6005 Says:
Sorpresa Aston martin. Red Bull come da aspettative. La Ferrari puo' migliorare.
@laszlokaestner5766 Says:
The crickets and tumbleweed from Hamilton when Bono told him the Red Bulls were 51 seconds up the road at the end 😀

Do you guys actually do two differents Review Shows? One Podcast one Youtube because Jon Noble wasnt on the Podcast and JBL isnt here ....
@chrisr4023 Says:
Absolutely Heartbreaking hearing Leclerc clearly fed up of the same issue while also trying to hide his anger as much as he can on the radio.
@chinwubaamadi Says:
Give us Mercedes Domination!
@randalhouser6731 Says:
Regarding Toto's comment about Red Bull being on a different planet and that it hurts that they are so far ahead of Mercedes.... Well, he wasn't bothered at all about seven years of complete dominance and Mercedes being on a different planet than the rest of the field. Perhaps he does not like having to really compete for wins instead of just showing up and collecting the wins.
@MrNanoPlankton Says:
3 Red Bull cars at the top, that is a 1st no one will ever match that stats. Red Bull now guaranteed the constructors. Checo brought it up in the debrief
@StreetComp Says:
This is great to get Jon Noble insight for free on YT - good move Autosport
@jamdc2000 Says:
If Alonso can make pole at Monaco, he can win
@techmantra4521 Says:
I think Merc needs to write off '23 as hard as it is. If Merc isn't in it for the victories then what's the point?
@kdm6287 Says:
Great job
@schabur365 Says:
Its a long season people. It was the first race after only 3 days of testing. It's pretty much testing until well into when they get to Europe
@karlosdelacruz3803 Says:
The Aston Concept is really a *Hybrid* of the RB and Ferrari designs, with Mercedes internals. It is Not a green Redbull.
@stephendippenaar9986 Says:
Alonso driving skills and experience showed that he's old but not obsolete. Good to see him in this spirit means we gonna see more epic fights on track. Lec almost crying could see it was bringing back all those emotions of last season of disappointment with the car. And Toto Face said it all when Alonso Passed Russell and Lewis on track he was worried. Epic race this is why we watch the sport
@kyleharrison713 Says:
Ocon got 3 of the most ticky-tack penalties we'll ever see
@Chyeahokay Says:
Watching Norris on the verge of tears during post race interviews is hard. Turning down redbull for shitbox Mclaren.
@ierbutza21 Says:
So for the F1 experts my question is how much did the huge advantage was the engine for Merc urly on & if thats why it was so dominant back then? Cause with the budget cap & the engines now similar it seems they are in the area that the team was before(in its bar & honda years).
@TL-xw6fh Says:
Warm congratulations to Alonso. What a great driver and entertainment too. I fear that Jeddah may be a much more difficult track for AM and Alonso as the car is very slow on the straights. Will like to see Alonso/Stroll on the podium there, but that is a challenge with Ferrari being so fast on the straights.
@pcfronin Says:
@autosport any chance you could not ruin the results with the title and thumbnail for the next one?
@joostprins3381 Says:
Mercedes needs a new manager, first putting their drivers in danger in 2022, now not listening to the drivers. We now know that Toto has just one thing in his mind, money, his money to be exact.
@emilekaram6094 Says:
Is RB dominating as much as Mercedes 2014-15-16 or even more or no not that much but less??
@Sensei-padthai Says:
To me Williams is by far the team that has improved most. From what i could see in the first race. I hope they are able to score points later aswell
@Housestationlive Says:
they have this wind tunnel's time penalty, which could be a disadvantage at some point of the year.
@Bapp-88 Says:
What Alonso is able to do is unbelievable… what a spectacular performance. And what a shame he hasn’t had a car competitive car in the last decade. F1 would have been so much more fun
@likilikiki Says:
Listen to Verstappen's/Gianpiero's radio communication from the exit of turn 10 on lap 1 and onwards and you'll get a grasp on how dominant he actually was. I fear the worst for his competition.
@teknikairaoulolgandessabek4102 Says:
I'm pretty sure the next couple of nights are going to be sleepless for Mike Elliott and Andrew Shovlin. The boards of Ineos and Daimler plus Toto were left red faced in Bahrain yesterday.
@Tj930 Says:
Don't think Seb Vettel would have got a podium
@sheldonong7648 Says:
Merc was never top shelf before they got their big engine advantage. So now that the game is back to aero, they’re back to where they were.
@gpaje Says:
Red Bull's double DFNs last year weren't PU related, but a minor fuel vacuum issue in the fuel tanks. Ferrari on the other hand has a more complicated mechanical issue with their PUs, which may not be so easy to fix.
@titanmode3888 Says:
The most boring race in years, so called bring close racing.

I'm curious about Hamilton. Is he sandbagging in a race? The way he caught up with Saintz, his tire condition vs Carlos', then falling way off. Curious

Max checo and red bull just looked in a league of there own but it’ll be good to see battle for 2nd and 3rd
@Gatotsu2009 Says:
Red Bull 2023 season will break records. It´s very similar to the 2004 season but instead of Ferrari vs a poor Mclaren and/or Williams now it will be a fantastic RB vs Ferrari/Mercedes. Both teams will need to ditch their current cars early, it´s clear Ferrari is unable to solve the tyre managment problem of last year with the evolution of the F1-75 (and interesting to notice that Haas had the same problem with their tyre managment, probably is has something to do with the suspension since both share these parts). The W14 must change for next season. The only hope is Fernando Alonso with the AM (the mechanical grip and tyre managment are the real assets of that car, for sure Monaco will suit them). I just hope FIA put their feet in the ground on allowing more teams to get into the sport because a season when everyone knows who is going to win just hurt sales and ratings
@howarddohlen8977 Says:
Red Bull has a very aggressive anti dive front end. This keeps the car at the right attitude in ride heights front to rear. There secret is right out in front of everyone And the roll center that creats.
