How Mclaren's MCL60 F1 Launch Looks To The Future

????

New driver duo, new team principal, new livery (sort of): McLaren's F1 2023 launch may be all about its upgrades for the new season, but McLaren, its drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, and its bosses Zak Brown and Andrea Stella, are certainly looking to McLaren's future in F1. After Interviewing Lando, Oscar, Zak and Andrea, Luke Smith caught up with Martyn Lee live from the McLaren Technology Centre to chat about what today's launch really means for McLaren. #f1 #mclaren #formula1 FOLLOW us online: Website: https://www.autosport.com/ Facebook: http://facebook.com/AUTOSPORT Twitter: https://twitter.com/autosport Instagram: http://instagram.com/autosport Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, and subscribe!

Why does Lando Norris sound like he's from Cape Town and Vienna?

Great video! Just an observation of mine though, as a video journalist myself: having the interviewee facing away from the shot looks really odd in my opinion, they should be facing into the shot with the interviewer stationed on the other side of the camera shot (if that makes sense?). It's also good practice to change camera angles each time you interview a different person, it just makes the video look more cleaner and slicker (it's the little things that can make a big difference!). Otherwise, great job 🙂

what mclaren the engine used?

Sell out on black paint.

At what point do people look at McLaren and say “You know what, when was the last time they made a competitive car?”. At what point are people going to look at Zack Brown and say “Okay so he got rid of a works deal with Honda because they weren’t competitive in order to be a customer team with Renault and then Mercedes, during which time, the team that took over the Honda engine are now the dominant force in F1. Sorry why does he still have a job?”

Lando looks and sounds pretty dejected, and actually so does Zak Brown, plus all they do is talk down expectations, weird how this is all talked up as a happy event. Zak Brown really is the master of deflecting from bad performances, strange how that hardlly ever really gets any criticism from Aurosport at all

Design looks great but livery is ugly, too busy, too much black color.
@jaynelane7772 Says:
Not much orange left on it shame

Making a bold prediction that Williams will out perform McLaren
@JordanHarris Says:
It didn't bear all because none of the launches are close to real these days...
@Swartkin Says:
Honestly, Mclaren looks like it wants to be a midfield team, they don't try anything new, this is so similar to the 2022 redbull that it can be called a copy. "copying" instead of trying something new is imo what is making mclaren be a shadow of what it once was, it can never beat redbull if the car is the redbull, it can never beat mercedes if the car is the mercedes.
@KarolDst Says:
Your journalists and editors are faster than last year's McLaren
@UrzuaNicolas Says:
full of murican company stickers, LMAO
@hkdxforsaken Says:
McLaren Red Bull. Seems like everyone is copying Red Bull.
@AudreyH48 Says:
Car looks fast. Looks better than last year's car. I'm calling it, there will be another podium this year for McLaren.
@willynelson8750 Says:
Not much has changed from last year, if this is the actual '23 car. Will probably evolve once the new facilities are up and running. Won't keep my hopes up for a top 4 finish
@infidelgastro Says:
Hopefully their new team principal will do a 'stellar' job, otherwise...
@dmaharry7976 Says:
That livery is too busy.
@TheSiameseDreamer Says:
Side pods look extremely interesting

I think they're going to be in a similar position to last year, to be honest. I can see them taking the fight to Alpine a little more, given I'm expecting Oscar to be much closer to Lando once he gets up to speed than Daniel was, but it's clear they're already hedging their bets a little. Obviously you can't say anything for sure until testing (and arguably not until the first race), but I imagine it'll be similar to last year.

I love the front shots of the new McLaren, everything else looks the same but I would still rate It a 8 to 8.5. Prob my favourite so far.
@markphilpottultra Says:
2023 will be the year when Lando Norris's bubble bursts. ( 5 Years in and nothing to show for it). Zac Brown protecting his recruitment mistake. Piastri will make him look like the actual driver that he is. Remember Norris only beat Ricciardo because he was use to the dog that was the MC36. Piastri is the real deal and Norris is going to be sweating by mid season.
@scottmeredith3359 Says:
The 2022 Redbull looks great in Mclaren livery
@djoetma Says:
Interesting accent Piastri has. Expected him to sound more Australian.
@ALMX5DP Says:
Lots of exposed CF contrasting with a lot of Chrome.
@Nanobellz Says:
This season's car color theme is seemingly black + team colour across the board.
@Lakshay70 Says:
bruh did you guys get a pre launch or what
@WjC00LEY Says:
Why is it blue if Gulf is gone?
@4utube626 Says:
Its literally the same damn car
@oscarpayne4639 Says:
Bloody hell that was fast
