What it's Really Like to Drive an F1 Car for the First Time

????

Most of us will never get the chance to drive an F1 car. But for Zak O'Sullivan, winner of the 2021 Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award, it became a reality when he blasted around Silverstone in the Aston Martin AMR21 F1 car. But what was it really like? And how much harder is it than the junior Formula categories? #F1 #AstonMartin #ZakOSullivan @astonmartinf1team@astonmartin FOLLOW us online: Website: https://www.autosport.com/ Facebook: http://facebook.com/AUTOSPORT Twitter: https://twitter.com/autosport Instagram: http://instagram.com/autosport Thanks for watching - please like, share and comment, and subscribe!

Hi's feedback was ok but he needs to relax a bit during the conversation, he seemed too nervous. He's still new to this so you kind of expect it.

feels like more details could be shown to us, like when the engineer says something about the rears, we should get some footage of what exactly happened in that lap, or at least some visual aid in terms of graphs... we're F1 fans, we don't mind nerdy technical representations. it felt like a lot of the footage didn't really mean anything specific and might as well have been stock footage; which is kind of a shame, considering we had actual footage of some presumably real conversations about the actual drive. probably would've needed a director and film crew who really knew how these test drives go, who could be on their toes and ready to shoot the relevant scenes live so as to portray a more coherent narrative... not easy to get in there with lighting and sound for key scenes as they happen, without interrupting the team's actual work.

Great video! Awesome job portraiting the excitement/emotion of a young driver reaching a childhood's dream.

Does he have ADD or something? He looks so twitchy and on edge. Cool video though!

Makes me wonder just how automotive autosport is when they cover the glorious sound of an f1 car with stupid over dramatic music.

Excellent! Really enjoyed that! The pre-start meetings and briefings were an interesting window into how professional and meticulous F1 teams actually need to be..
