Funny how the most hyped player of Today almost lost to someone who played a more or less old school serve and volley style game. Now look at the other matches Carlos is playing against modern day grinders and how easily he beats those on grass. Makes you wonder if the great Roger Federer was actually a bit wrong calling serve and volley dead.

Carlitos really looks potent and solid on the grass court surface as well. He can claim one ATP title on the grass court before Wimbledon. However, Alcaraz needs a little more time to gain a massive championship in Wimbledon. It will be possible to watch himself at the apogee in the upcoming years on the grass court surface.

Think the change of player at the 11 th hour may have disadvantaged Carlos. Also think he was missing the presence of Juan Carlos especially as he is less experienced on grass. That said he fought hard for the win. How is the Frenchman not higher in the rankings! He is a really good player.

What is amazing about modern Tennis is how good the the top 100 players are. The top 10 have always been super strong, but the overall level outside of the top 10 has increased so much. People tend to slam the current top 5/top 10 players for not being consistent enough but we need to give credit to the other players. It's simply that much harder to win against anyone these days. Rinderknech, Nicolas Jarry etc... are perfect examples. Rinderknech is #83 but look at the level he played here, and vs Fritz in the French.
