Honestly this is just one of many matches that illustrates Federer in a nutshell. When he is on fire (like WTF in 2019) he is/was the best player on tour. But the moment it gets tight in a match he chokes big time.
In this match Djokovic oppened horribly and was on the ropes after 20minutes, couldnt find his footing nor his shots. It was Federer who made easy mistakes that gave him time to get back into the match. Not saying Djokovic didnt buy himself time as well with his defence but it was Federer who didnt materialse what he had.
On a good day, like in wimbledon 2014 when both played well it was a great match but Djokovic wins most of the time.
On a good Federer day like WTF 2019 Federer wins.
On a good Djokovic day like AO 2020 Djokovic wins.
Tldr: it takes a great day for Federer to win.
Djokovic wins on his good day.
If they are both bad or both good, its usualy Djokovic who wins. Proves Federer chokes more.
Alcaras imo is like Federer, similar gamestyle, agressive and great touch but tends to choke from time to time.
Sinner is similar to Djokovic, never chokes, wins when he is great but also manages to win when not so great.

The fact that Djokovic still won this match despite having such an average serve(compared to the late 30s version of himself) is a testament to how superior he is indoors. As a result 14 Paris + WTF. Federer is arguably better at fast outdoor hardcourts, but indoors we all know who the undisputed king is.
