If I had a nickel for everytime the Dodgers won Game 1 of the World Series on a walk-off into right field with two outs and being down by one run, and then went on to win the World Series, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird how it happened twice!

For fans who judt learned about Gibson's walkoff: this video edits together 2 famous calls. One by the GOAT, Vin Scully, for the NBC tv cast. It's a masterclass in calling tv games bc Scully went silent for over a minute while Gibson ran the bases so that the audience could fully take in what they were watching on tv. This video edits in Jack Buck's, CBS radio call, which is also considered legendary bc radio listeners are relying on the announcer to tell them what they are seeing. Thats why its poetic that Jack emphatically yells that he doesnt believe what he just saw. Classic announcing.

Wasnt it great how Vin would stop speaking and let the crowd speak for itself before kirks at bat and after the homer. Question:.why didnt eck just walk kirk?
@Tyrunner0097 Says:
The only thing that could've capped this is if Freddie had done the Gibson "fist pump" going around the bases.

Bob Costas is a demon or a god. I can't tell, but he never ages. 🤣
@nevasmile1 Says:
Ken Rosenthal is a poor substitute for Bob Costas. Everything else is 👌🏼 Vin to Joe, Gibby to Freddy

The Movie about Freddie Freeman should start with Gibson Home run walk off.

Freddie could have waited to bring the count to 3 balls and 2 strikes like Kirk did... Nah!
@StaviPorter Says:
My dad got to see Gibson winning with a walk off HR when he was just 19 years old. This year he got to enjoy Freddie cracking off that walk off grand slam and I got to be right there next to him both hugging and cheering for our dodgers. We both will never forget this moment and this World Series for the rest of our lives!

@10:10 I was almost 10 years old when Kirk Gibson hit his 2 run Homerun off the best closer in baseball and it was epic. Now than I’m an adult and again watching live from my home with my kids the same feeling of jubilation! My entire family and house screaming for joy with Freddie Freeman’s grand slam Homerun! A grand salami off Nestor Cortes in the bottom of the 9th inning! Dodgers Stadium never disappoints, I hope I live to see another game 1 like this one at Dodgers Stadium.
