how could you not like him? its really not often that it hurts me when a tennis player quits because they all had their time... but dominic was such a nice guy and i always wished so hard that he could figure his tennis out again so he would have had some great years still to play, what a shame i just wish him the besthe was always my favorite player, that backhand longline full force i have never seen it again than from him

The best free-swinging backhand I have ever seen. He proved the single backhand could be a reliable offensive weapon when you let your shoulder unleash it. His forehand was incredible too. So sad a wrist injury cut his career short before he could win another Slam.

The Indian Wells final was one of the few times I found myself happy Federer lost. Fed himself seemed quite happy for Thiem.

The fact that the big 3 pretty much put Murray Thiem and Wawrinka in a way out of commission is just criminal lol

great video, thank you guys. Dominic at his peak was one of the best tennis players we have ever seen. he will be missed. what a horrific year 2024 for tennisfans it has been so far with Rafa, Dominic, Filip aso....quitting pro tennis.

It's a shame that wrist injury happened in 2021. He probably would have won 2-3 Grand Slams more if it wasn't for it.

Dominic has always been my favorite player after Federer! I admire his incredible attitude on and off the court. His backhand was like a rocket—absolutely amazing to watch! I felt so happy when he finally won his Grand Slam at the US Open; he truly deserved that moment after all his hard work and dedication. Watching him challenge the Big Three and rise to the top was a thrill, and he has always brought such intensity and passion to the game. Wishing him all the best in his next chapter; he will always be a champion in my eyes
