This is why teams lose games. I noticed it a few years ago watching my Detroit tigers. If you pound the zone and the other team hits everything. You expand the zone to get poor contact, ground balls, and strikeouts. But at this level people hit anything anywhere sometimes and it's almost impossible to beat a team with that kind of groove. I've also noticed that teams like that can punish a team that's too inflexible with their strategy. When you refuse to expand the zone and refuse to walk people it leads to 8 run frames and lots of runs. Sometimes pounding the zone can be bad. But sometimes it really just doesn't matter with hitting like this. If you've expanded the zone to the shoelaces and they still hit it...... Jesus. Call Jesus cuz he's the only who can help at that point.
