Just heard a commentator welcome the fear factor introduced by Pinehurst. Really? Notah just said it is too much gold course for most guys. So what does this mean to professional golfers? Let’s see. They make $10m a year. And lots of them are willing to play the LIV, exhibition circus to further pad their pockets even as they destroy the game for the fans they claim to care about so much. They have tons of golf courses that let them play shoot out and most of them will never win a major, except by luck of a hot week. So how will they react?They will reject the whole concept of this “stern” test. Of course, Scheffler will embrace it and see opportunity. His career only has these kind of tournaments left to accomplish his destiny. If the players are worried whether the greens will hold the still ball in place, it’s not fear; it’s insanity designed to indulge amateurs who run the tournament. I’d rather see a shootout anytime rather than great, but spoiled, golfers endure completely unnatural setups. If I paid for a round where the ball would not settle on the green, I’d demand a refund.
