@mrpog5620 Says:
Sad to see him leave.
@oldfrend Says:
what a shame. his injuries surely robbed us of a legendary career, i'm sure of it. his 2018 us open quarterfinal vs nadal is still one of the most epic matches i've ever seen. superhuman stuff; like two titans battling for control of the cosmos.
@Jason2223 Says:
This is depressing but we will give him his flowers 😭💐🏆
@user-gx5kk2ik8m Says:
Lost the eye of the tiger. Alarming to say the least
@phhuynh9881 Says:
He's my idol, he gave passion of tennis like Boris Becker.He's one of the few ones who won against Big Three
@webtennis24 Says:
Thiem's one-handed backhand is just pure beauty on the court. Too bad we are losing another great to retirement.😔
@sanjusingh3753 Says:
So sad.. But good thing is he managed to win a major title which many cannot in their career...
@sanjusingh3753 Says:
Thiem's down the line backhand was the best ever...
@philippeduperrin8624 Says:
No point against Federer ?
@againstall6830 Says:
😢😢😢
@axeltie2298 Says:
I for one will sadly miss that backhand
@garrusv Says:
All those open stance one handed backhand returns. Sublime but came at the cost of his wrist.
@pausegarra5138 Says:
THAT BACKHAND. We will miss you Dominic😥
@leopardndf6971 Says:
Thiems BH is my favorite 1HBH in recent history, his game overall was very fun to watch.
@innozenz Says:
Backhand Down-the-line (topspin or flat), backhand drop volley, backhand slice, backhand passing shots, backhand half-volley (kinda) from the baseline, and hes not even in the conversation for the best one handed backhand...?
@michelegrassi4385 Says:
A bad news from a fan of Him
@7311nw Says:
I’ll be missing you so much 😢
@DonYang73 Says:
The best single backhander in my opinion.
@woogy4952 Says:
dominic theim is a great player no doubt he was such a fighter and a hard worker but that ended up breaking his body so early. such an unfortunate thing to happen
@nonfarlocarlo5043 Says:
Great player… nice guy. The first of the new breed of sportsmanship we now see in Sinner and Alcaraz. Thanks for the memories. Go enjoy the rest of your like 🙏🏻
@ErnestoVillanueva-dt2ux Says:
This video should be named "destroying Nadal since 2011"¡¡ He absolutely crushed him in all surfaces, way more talented.
@discard_edits Says:
Idky but i think the outcome of his game would be much different untill he reach his retirement date and he would have to re-think about his retirement
@Emil-Roma Says:
This man was sometimes the favorite when it came to meeting the Big 3, even in tournaments where you were almost certain he should have lost (think Federer and Djokovic at London and of course Nadal on clay multiple times). That is an essentially unrivaled achievement. Such an extreme loss for the sport.
@DNAdad925 Says:
Damn, another OHBH bites the dust. The difference in pace and shot quality is obvious compared to his recent form. Glad he was able to get a slam
@ispeakasiplease Says:
I literally was in a bad mood at work all day today. I'm gonna miss Dominic. I hope he continues to be influence and continues to be involved in the tennis world in some way, shape, or form.
@theb2a Says:
His retirement is not a surprise but it still does hurt...
@DavidGao1988 Says:
The way he used to play costed his body. He just blasted for almost every shot he made. He just doesn't have the physical talent like Nadal who came back again and again to the peak performance from injuries.
@oflode2992 Says:
I hate this! we need more players like Thiem. He was really one of the few I thought could get the big 3 out of the way. We will miss him, tennis will miss him.
@Maliilse75 Says:
Only 8 minutes, Tennis TV? His match against Rafa at the ATP finals of 2020 was spectacular. So many breathtaking shots coming from Thiem.
@matttennis Says:
One of my favorite players. Truly will be missed, Dom. What phenomenal tennis and fighting spirit on the courts over the years. Many happy memories.
@jurals Says:
Thiem, you will be dearly missed.
@wadecarroll3572 Says:
Really sad how it ended for Thiem. Guy was my favorite player and really got me back into the sport. These highlights are great reminder of how good he was
@StewNWT Says:
Thiem deserved to finish his career on a better note. He worked tirelessly to make himself the equal of the big three when they were still winning slams, and close to their prime. Definitely makes the Hall of Fame in my book. His 2020 AO win over Nadal was just unreal
@gozdim9013 Says:
The saddest retirement in tennis.. This guy was unbelievable, his H2H with Federer is the proof. The best one handed backhand just after Wawrinka's. A big honour Prince of clay!
@EHenterprises Says:
I'm sure gonna miss the shit out of that backhand. A thing of beauty and a joy forever. Bye Domi.
@user-hd5ee2rc6g Says:
This just goes to show that no matter how good you are or how much potential that you may have one injury can derail it all. Dominic was one of the dominant players not so long ago and now because of the wrist injury his career is unfortunately coming to an end. I wish Dominic nothing but the best for the rest of his life.
@AM_529 Says:
Schade, hab ihm immer gern zugeschaut. Unvergessen das Finale vs Zverev
@carlosalfredo7238 Says:
I feel sad, I like Diminic so much, he is my favourite player on tour, but I wish the best on his new stage in life.
@pauljohnson6019 Says:
6.15- I wish it was clay no!😄
@pauljohnson6019 Says:
Federer should come back- to replace him, Wimbledon 24, miracle run at 43.
@Everythingabouthistory1 Says:
I'm the only one who could relaunch Thiem's career. If you want to see our partnership, comment
@cnt2495 Says:
I really thought that Thiem could be the new #1 after the big 3 because he had so much promise! But his injury just upended his career so much. I would love to see him play but only when he feels that he's ready just like how Nadal is right now. He will be sincerely missed!
@DelanaSeneviratne-fe6dl Says:
Going to miss you Dominic. Loved your personality and demeanor on court as well as your amazing groundstrokes. Happy retirement ❤
@nicozuki Says:
Un talento innato
@HS1-1 Says:
5:23 gonna miss the hot sauce 😢
@BrotherTree1 Says:
Alongside Murray, Thiem was one of the rare elites that could consistently threaten and defeat the big 3. Such a shame that wrist injury ended up ending his career prematurely. So so sad. He had so much more to win and achieve before his wrist fell apart in 2021 from all the years of high octane ballstriking. His wrist couldn't keep up with his ability to generate power as well as willpower.
@damirvaleev1293 Says:
He could become such legend like Federer and inspire youngsters for one handed backhand, but instead of it we got Tsitsipas
@lalolanda8458 Says:
So long and wishing a bright future to this very talented player, Dominic Thiem, who gave tennis a lot and made it a better sport.
@nelsonc6173 Says:
Loved Thiem! His game his overall talent and and his...of course...one handed backhand!! One of the best in tennis history! He should have won more than one slam and when his injury set in and he was out for quite awhile...coming back and not really getting the results he was used to...well the writing was on the wall. Enjoy your retirement Thiem, you will be missed!
