As South Africans I think so many of us have learned the powerful idea of reframing narratives. Asked multiple times here about "pressure", Cobus reframes the narrative around "opportunity". Its a mental jedi-trick that allows him/us to play with passion, joy and gratitude, as opposed to playing under an unbearable weight of expectation. Both those narratives are factually true - there indeed is an unbearable load of expectation, BUT how him as a player and team perceive the facts at hand, changes with what spirit him and the team play, and how they go about their craft. I think many of us have been taught this by our parents, our teachers, our leaders. We've prepared the child for the road, and not the road for the child.

My favourite springbok. Fast as fark, distributes like a champ, unselfish and graceful when not selected for the final, absolute gentleman.
