It's interesting that Ohtani was actually not hitting well at this AB. Ohtani told reporters that he got struck when he hit but he continued to swing through and used his power to send the ball high and far enough to become a HR. That's why it's one of the lowest speed of all HR balls he hit in last 3 years. In fact Ohtani at first thought he had a fly ball or a barely hit, so he ran quickly in the beginning and slowed down when he found out that was a HR.

So glad that he didn't sign with a team that has such an immature fan base. They have always boo'd Shohei and chanted that he is overrated even well before his free agency year. Who said Canadians are the nicest people on earth?! I find that so hard believe! I also think the Blue Jays fanbase don't realise that booing Shohei effectively means you're booing Japan because it certainly hasn't gone down well with the public and media here 😅Not that such an immature fanbase will care but can't help to think that it could potentially affect any future sponsorship deals and players signing there!
