I’ve watched a few of these game summaries with Draper and it seems he barely shakes hands with opponents when he loses. He doesn’t say anything, he doesn’t congratulate them. I understand he’s sad that he’s lost but you have to be gracious in defeat. I want him to win but I don’t like bad losers. I seriously hope I’m wrong and these were rare anomalies. Hubie could be 2 - 3 spots higher in the rankings if he really developed his net game. Given the power of his serve, a strong serve & volley combo from him would be super-effective. And he's so good from the baseline that he could really get maximum impact from adding an unexpected drop shot into the mix.

Hurkacz played a great match, but Draper's issue is that he was just trying to blast Hurkacz off the court with no variety (i.e., dropshots). Without dropshots keeping Hurkacz honest, Hurkacz was just able to fearlessly back up way behind the baseline and float the ball back with spin and depth until Draper missed. Trying to outhit a player like Hurkacz on a surface which takes all the pace off of the ball isn't going to work. Rublev had to learn that lesson when he was starting out and I think Draper's at that stage too.
