Enjoy watching the highlights of this very extraordinary volleyball match between players of the V1 LEAGUE in collaboration with Haikyu!! in the Kamei Arena Senda that brought the popular anime series into real life! Additionally, players that are normally teammates would be pitted against each other. One of the tie-ins was trying to situate players with different characters. At the beginning of Haikyu!!, Shoyo Hinata and Tobio Kageyama meet on the court as middle schoolers in a tournament held at the Sendai City Gymnasium. The Sendai City Gymnasium has hosted numerous FIVB events from the Men's and Women's World Championships, the FIVB World Grand Prix, and Women's World Cup. In July 2016, through a sponsorship naming right deal, the name of the arena was changed to Kamei Arena Sendai. With that said, the collaboration with the V.LEAGUE enabled the animation to create a real match in the same venue as the story. Now there were some liberties taken as it would not be a five-set match, but instead a best-of-three set match. Each set to 25 points. Also due to COVID restrictions, the match was played in front of an empty arena.
