His skills and passion shine through in moments like this. He's a player who hasn't been given rave reviews this season, but that's because Arne's been relying on him and Gravenberch to play in the double pivot. Although Alexis has tempered his game this year, so far, he's always going to have moments like this in his locker.
I could possibly imagine Diogo scoring as important a goal as this, but few would have been as calm in the moment as Alexis to poke it around the defender and finally giving Courtois a shot he didn't have the time to react to.
We have such a good squad of players and right now every team we put out has the potential to keep adding to the wins.
It's a great time to be supporting our reds. Let's hope, come May, this has continued and we have some trophies to show for it. A season is never won by November, but it can be lost by now. We stand a great chance in all competitions so far, but there are plenty of opportunities for opponents to take each one away from us. Let's hope that doesn't happen, but if we do start to falter in one competition, then I hope the experience from last year will mean that we can still go on in the others.
