<<@johnklaus9111 says : Goal... I'm tired of talking to you stupid people. The reason for the reduction is that the PGA Tour got a warning that their TV contract is going to be halved in the next deal. You might think that this is "golf related" but no. Comcast is going to try and spin it off and that means it thinks that it can no longer be a profit center. The PGA Tour model is about to go bankrupt. You need to start listening to me or else this tour may just dissappear in the next 10 years. The idea that the average player pays 250k before they even have a chance to become a PGA Tour member needs to change as no one is going to pay to get something they can get for free somewhere else. This is why the monday qualies are going away. No one is paying into them today. The actual model for the PGA Tour isn't a legal model as it's a phony NFP that blantantly sends it's profits to it's partners.... Come on folks. Gravity is going to destroy this very soon if you don't change course.>> <<@tommarks1039 says : If pace of play is such a big deal, they should enforce the already existing rules. And/or add rangefinders which they use for the PGA major.>> <<@WandaHenry07 says : I feel it’s going to chase more people to liv golf>> <<@KayakFishingAddict says : I hate the fact that Monday qualifiers are out. I understand why but I think it was a good idea but since there were just a few graduates onto the tour I think they threw the baby out with the bath water. Honestly, I think they should have leaned far more into the route of “Playing In”to the actual tournament. For example, here’s my “commissioner for a day” thought…. The PGA Tournament is for the top n players that week. Those n players will play Friday, Saturday, Sunday only with practice rounds Tuesday/Wednesday. Saturday is cut day. Everyone gets paid. Monday qualifiers will play into the “qualifying tournament” each week. The qualifying tournament is Wednesday and Thursday on a nearby course. The qualifying tournament is made up of Monday qualifiers *and* lower ranked players (e.g. 100-125) with tour cards. The top y finishers from the qualifying tournament “Play In”to the PGA tournament. The qualifying tournament should be streamed on the internet and access should be either free or very low cost tickets (~$20) with highlights shown on TV (e.g. golf channel). For that matter they can wear shorts and it can be a party atmosphere with music (see what I did there). A small percentage of the purse for the PGA tournament, qualifying tournament ticket sales, and drink/vendor sales is given to the top y finishers of the qualifying tournament. The PGA tournament (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) is shown on TV and has some guys that are long shots from the qualifying tournament that are trying to get into the top 100 so they don’t have to qualify for the tournament each week and they’re guaranteed a pay day every tournament they play. The excitement of bubble watching that usually only happens at the end of the year with FedEx cup points happens each week. In addition, the LIV-like atmosphere and those it attracts can get their fill with the qualifying tournament, and everyone gets variety as the competition truly ramps up!>> <<@martinwallingford3773 says : Eliminating Monday qualifiers is an affront to what the PGA tour all about, the underdog having a chance to make his mark.>> <<@markushayes says : PGA Tour has seen its brighter days.>> <<@TheSquid9124 says : Easy fix Increase the fields Have Monday qualifiers Add double events so these guys from 90-150 can compete and keep there tour cards>> <<@josephboza7448 says : Its like Screw the Journey and Screw the Korn Ferry Tour that is what they are saying. The superstars that are on the policy board are benefiting from these changes. Also this channel doesnt want to cover the fall it feels like. They want to cover the superstars cause its easier to do their job when a superstar wins. They want the fall portion to disapper cause they had to do their job.>> <<@CorekBleedingHollow says : Money>> <<@ww2remembered983 says : All about the money. Nobody goes to tournaments anymore. Way too expensive for everything, no fun and all the name players are never there. So the PGA is scrambling. LIV did a number on the PGA and this is another desperate move to cover their margins. Guess they should have given Trump his PGA tournament at Doral years ago. He, Norman and his Saudi buddies came up with LIV as Donnie's revenge and to break up the PGA monopoly.>> <<@HRFdez1 says : The PGA Tour needs to go the way of the DoDo bird.>> <<@HRFdez1 says : Cater to the so-called stars and screw the journeyman. The PGA Tour is utter trash.>> <<@sbMaine1881 says : Why should the PGA force players to play the DP world tour in the fall? This isn't Liv, they are free to do what they want. I love how the golf channel airs fall golf and at the same time has people on every week claiming the fall product is trash.>> <<@ALRLJ says : golf is a joke !!! these changes are trash>> <<@wizmo57 says : such a stupid idea. PGA leadership is as dumb and out of touch as american politics>>
