Why not have a young driver race during selected race weekends?

I do wonder if - secretly - they decided to "undo" KMag's lack of punishment for Monaco. I know they're a different group of stewards and that first lap incidents tend to be treated more leniently (though that doesn't explain Ocon's penalty). Stewards have been getting yet more stick for lousy decisions so maybe they saw it as a chance to seem tough? Just an idea. Not even an opinion!

The 12-point penalty system doesn't work. When it comes down to it, the only reason Magnuson has been banned for this race is because Haas doesn't want him. Seemingly every time a race team is faced with their driver receiving a race ban, that team argues with the FIA to get around that ban. For some reason, the sanctioning body has always been a pushover. Even the slightest bit of protest from a team can stop that race ban from happening. As I said, in this case Haas would prefer that Kevin sits out a race. They might as well have a chance to put next year's driver in the car.

I would love to see a young driver race. I hope they go through with this idea.

As for the ban instead of sometimes giving 2 or 3 points, and sometimes 0 points, which can bring in unintentional bias. Just give everyone 1 penalty point for every infraction (even if they aren't French, latin or KMag lol). Not sure why when it only takes 4-6 infractions to earn a ban how so few drivers are close to the limit when there are easily 2 or 3 infractions per race x 25 races and probably a lot more when you include speeding in the pit lane or crossing white lines or speeding under the VSC etc.

Come on it takes years for a driver to make it to F1, why should they give up their seat because the media want rookies, why not push for more teams there were a lot of F1 cars running years ago lets get the grid larger

Not only would a 'Rookie' Race be intelligent but, furthermore, it should recommend the participation of all of the F2 championship winners that are actively included into teams' respective academies. Finally, if this would not include enough drivers to form a 20-car grid, reserve drivers should be able to participate as well. Greetings,J-L

Magnussen has had other contacts that resulted in no damage or disadvantage but received points and penalties that were inconsistent compared to other drivers incidents. I don’t think he should have half his points. The points system was supposed to deter dangerous driving but has become something else entirely.

Good idea for the rookie race. If it doesnt compromise the season then why not!

Another gimmick. Better bring back in season testing and put them in the cars. Teams and the sport might benefit more if it.

Stop with this bullshit narrative that there's anything controversial about Magnussen's ban. There just isn't. The only thing controversial was that it didn't come sooner.
