Yes it was a gamble, but much less so when you consider how well that car preserves its tyres, especially when you knowingly save them on the first few introductory laps as Leclerc did... All that being said, the one stop was just marginally better than the two stop, so with an outright slower car (not by alot but still), Ferrari still needed some things to align in order to win it. Slow pit stops from McLaren definitely helped and Sainz holding up Piastri for almost an entire lap did help too, he made him lose alot of time in S1 and most of S2 before he was free to chase Leclerc.>> <<@DestructiveCon says : bullshit take, Mclaren choked the strat and sold.
