A few months back I discovered his YouTube channel and everything changed. He is in my top 3 follows. This impromptu interview was amazing and wholesome. I have been watching his YouTube videos the last year and have seen his true colours. I used to think he was slightly, cocky, arrogant and self centred but having seen him playing and interacting with other pros and YouTube golfers and treating them with respect with a great sense of humour he genuinely is a good guy. This makes speed control much more important than just hitting your line, particularly, under pressure because your heart rate is working against your ability to “feel” the speed. Rory likely felt like he had to guess the adjustment to accommodate for his adrenaline so he wouldn’t over hit it (as he did on 16 where the adrenaline got the better of him and he hit it too firm). Rory is not a failure. If he hit the putt on 16 just slightly softer, it’s not in his head to over-correct on 18 (and he’s a winner). These guys have no clue what it’s like to be in the arena (they are critics) Speak about a man who’s sweat and exhaustion is on display for our entertainment as if there’s something wrong with him, as opposed to empathizing with the tragedy (there’s not risk to be criticized for holding a microphone , right?)
