<<@allensmith7110 says : Lucky on the lies...pitching and putting for par at Pinehurst? This is the worst>> <<@morten3465 says : Bryson loves to be loved by the fans as any player does. Right now, the difference between him and Rory is that Bryson does not take it for granted.>> <<@jimiverson3085 says : I think Tiger just isn't a potential winner or contender any more. Too much accumulated wear and tear, with too many severe injuries. So, is he willing to be a ceremonial player? He could still do that if he wanted.>> <<@jimiverson3085 says : Regarding the course, I think that one thing that muted complaints was the width of the fairways. The native areas could have killer lies, but the players had to know that if you were in those areas you had hit a really bad drive and deserved it. They hate the narrow fairway/vicious rough combination because decent drives can still leave them dead.>> <<@petegalindez9961 says : In the end, although the last 9 holes was incredibly entertaining, I didn’t find the rest of the Open very entertaining…when greens are so penal, there really isn’t a chance for fireworks…everyone putted defensively, which was very boring…that’s nice for a bunch of holes, but for every hole, it was a bit much….it was the same thing…land it here, or it runs off the green and your chipping or putting…rinse, repeat for the next hole…would have appreciated more variety with some holes set up for people to attack and make birdies…not many since it’s a US Open, but needed more chances…>> <<@petegalindez9961 says : I love how people are now all skeptical about Bryson’s personality and interaction with the fans…is it real or just an act??? WHO CARES? Their job is to entertain the fans…people forget these guys make millions to play golf because they draw fans (potential customers for the sponsors)…if they are boring to watch, people will stop watching…when I watch golf, it’s like watching a movie…I don’t question whether the actors in the film are really like the people they portray? Don’t care…entertain me, period. People did the same thing to Phil…Tiger was a complete A$$ hole to the fans and media, so there was nothing to question there….we just accepted him for what he was because he was the best, and that alone was entertaining.>> <<@petegalindez9961 says : I think the biggest shock for me was his driving choice on 18….all that pressure, tied at that point, and instead of going with his go-to draw, or even the low punch runner he’d been using throughout the weekend, he tries to play a fade and winds up in the junk left…and while he punched out to a decent spot, his chip went too far, leaving him a treacherous downhill putt…I think when Rory eventually talks about this, he will question why he tried to pull off the fade on 18 instead of his normal shot…>> <<@SABjork says : Re: Scottie, Im surprised that no one touched on lack of sleep with a newborn and the attention to family that someone like Scottie would devote as opposed to devoting normal attention to preparation>> <<@rwrae72 says : Just a couple years ago, the British guy hit a fairway bunker shot on the 72nd hole at The Country Club. THAT was a great shot too!>> <<@Luke-mq6mn says : 2016 Troon - Stenson & Mickelson was a classic dual, they played some of the best golf you'll see. They left everyone else way way behind.>> <<@OG_Jack says : To Lav's point...at last week's LIV event in Houston, Bryson took time to sign autographs and take pictures IN BETWEEN SHOTS! I know this because my grandson (19yrs) and his buddies were the recipients. Do you think the PGA Tour would allow this? How about NO!>> <<@silverfishla says : I think that the skepticism about Bryson being himself or not is lost by some media who haven't followed him on YouTube. Watch the videos where he plays games against his fellow LIV members. It's good fun and you get to see his competitive self and his fun self. I think you can get a good picture of his personality. He's pretty close to what you see.>> <<@adambarnes4191 says : Stfu Rex. Why are golf journalists so insufferable lately? Grow a pair and show up in the comments. Arent you trying to grow this podcast?>> <<@yommypops says : The Stenson/Mickelson battle at the Open in 2016>> <<@mgh3380 says : The Saudis were doing donuts in their Lambos last night for sure.>> <<@chaseiv58 says : I don't like Rory but to say he owes it to you to show up at a press conference and answer your questions about where this ranks in terms of his losses..... your re delusional. No one cares about your article>> <<@teddyzamba1396 says : Just a HUGE choke by the Royster, he was playing the best golf of his life; and was tearing up the course, even with that unbelievable 6 on the par 5; where he got such a bad break on the approach, it should have been an eagle; instead a bogey. But, he recovered nicely and birdied 3 of the first 4 holes on the back 9; meanwhile, the chambeeno is scrambling like a squirrel for nuts before winters bone.>> <<@teddyzamba1396 says : Royster threw it away; inexcusable 3 bogues in the last 4 holes.>> <<@cledesma135 says : More about Brysons win less about Rory loss.>> <<@Zachboulden says : I’m a newer golf fan but i found it odd how much attention Rory was paying to what Bryson was doing behind him instead of solely focusing on his own game.>> <<@k9jazzy121 says : Don’t understand your comments about Tiger. The man deserves a lot more respect than what you guys give him. But this is how you guys should be discussing Tiger Woods. Please take notes. We got a chance to see the great Tiger Woods at another US Open which he has won three times. He’s only played three times this year so it’s always a special treat to be able to see arguably the greatest player of all time swing the club one more time. Unfortunately he missed the cut by only two shots (not by a mile as one of you guys said) and to put that in perspective, Scottie only beat Tiger by two shots and made the cut on the number. Tiger played well enough to make the cut. But the tricked out greens and crazy rough was too much to overcome. But he still outperformed guys that are playing every week like Glover, Bennie An, JT, Sungjae Im, DJ, Jason Day, Fowler, Hoge, Willie Z and others. Not bad for a guy with zero prep time. Tiger hit about 80% of fairways, the irons were a bit off but the putter was pretty good so he would have been in contention at any other course. He had a lot of positives to take away from this week. I think his interview after the tournament has to be put into the proper context. First of all it was immediately after a frustrating missed cut, he was still covered in sweat. So questions about his future or adjusting his prep schedule were not going to be answered in a positive tone. So I don’t think we should try to read too much into that exchange. But anyway we got another chance to see a walking, living, breathing legend one more time up close. We don’t know how many more times we will see him but let’s cherish every moment. Looking forward to The Open. If he drives the ball as well as he did this week he might be in contention but will definitely make the cut. That’s the way you guys should be covering Tiger Woods. Show some respect for a legend. You guys show Scottie more respect than you do Tiger. And what has Scottie really done? He’s on a hot streak right now but we will have to see how long it will last. Sure you can crunch Scotties numbers and dig up a few golly gee stats. But let me remind you of the only four stats that matter regarding Tiger and the game of golf, I won’t bother telling you what they are because you know what they are: 683 - 142 - 82 - 15. All the other stats you dig up concerning Scottie and anyone else ain’t worth a hill of beans.>> <<@cfreinheimer says : Does it really matter where this loss ranks? It was very tough obviously and that’s all you need to know. If he told you it was his worse loss, then what? What do you gain from that information? Any one of us in that situation would be devastated. Just give him some time to lick his wounds. He will be back and I think he may just win at Royal Troon.>> <<@donjeon8525 says : Rory threw the championship so he would have less money to split with his ex-wife😂>> <<@k9jazzy121 says : I don’t agree that this is the perfect venue for a US Open. The greens were too tricked out. You can’t have slopes that close to the pin so the greens did not reward great shots. The rough was too inconsistent with all that shrubbery out there. It was like playing on a desert. Some balls would land in the fairway and roll into the junk. They need to grow deep grass so the rough can be consistent and don’t over trick the greens. So no this was not the perfect place for a US Open, not even close.>> <<@sruckel says : Excusing Rory from the press conference by saying we don’t deserve it is ridiculous. When you play a game and win millions for coming in second creates a debt of gratitude that should be paid by showing up to speak to the fans.>> <<@garyalpern1402 says : Lee Trevino was a great showman / golfer and probably saved golf in the 70‘s. Good for you Bryson. Follow his example. Rory could have stayed to congratulate Bryson, but I would have left too in anticipation of this commentator‘s stupid, insulting question, as if he EVER came close to achieving in his profession the status that Rory has in golf.>> <<@joenolan4917 says : Woulda loved a playoff but man majors have been stellar this year>> <<@sruckel says : Rory should not be excused for running away from the press room. It is hard to overcome a loss if you let it eat you up. Face the pain, learn from the mistakes, and be an overcomer.>> <<@k9jazzy121 says : You guys need to stop making excuses for Scottie whenever he doesn’t play well. He’s the #1 player on the PGA Tour but that doesn’t mean that he has perfected the game. He’s on a hot streak, he’s deadly with his irons and he’s accurate with the driver but he still has the yips on short putts. Ands that’s what hurt him this week. His driver was okay but anything off the fairway was in the junk and you had to get lucky to have a decent lye. So you don’t have to over analyze it, he just didn’t play well and almost missed the cut. He was only two shots better than Tiger and he’s only played three times all year. So just stop it. Scottie didn’t play well, end of story.>> <<@bingham7957 says : Rory's most crushing loss was losing the 150th Open Championship at the Old Course. He is a UK/Euro guy after all and the Open Championship is the biggest major for them. Winning the 150th on the Old Course would have been even more special.>> <<@k9jazzy121 says : Don’t know where this nonsense came from about Rory not seeking out Bryson to congratulate him. Since when has that ever happened? Someone please show me an image. It’s not like they were in the same group and Rory stormed off and didn’t shake his hand. Rory was in the clubhouse and after he saw that he lost, he left. So where’s the problem? Did Finau and Cantlay seek out Bryson to congratulate him? They got beat too. Rory had a two shot lead with four holes to play and he had a meltdown on the last four holes. He had not obligation to stick around and shake Bryson’s hand. So please just stop it.>> <<@ep3578 says : Bryson never wanted to be an antagonist. You guys in the media made him one. When he went to LIV, you media people doubled down. Shame on you>> <<@HockeyDudeJames2 says : Misleading title. It would have been if it went to a playoff.>> <<@t5p7879 says : Rory is unlike TW. Every time TW plays, people expect him to win.Rory? Nayyyy>> <<@t5p7879 says : You guys talk about Rory as if he owns the championship.Bryson are the better player on the day.Mentally he is stronger than Rory>> <<@robchrystal says : ffs Rex either put the glasses on or get lenses Better still , stick to radio. Painful to watch....>> <<@markschulte-b4f says : Amazing duel by two great golfers on a very treacherous course. It's amazing they both made so many putts.>> <<@666shredordie says : Johnson Wagner stuck that pin closer than Bryson in the dark from the same spot 😂 Rory lost that a little bit more than Bryson won it. Just a little.>> <<@daveh640 says : The golf channel brandell and the commissioner are all losers. U all could easily get jobs at cnn.>> <<@Bandana_Boi says : In regards to where does this loss rank for Rory... Who cares? In that moment, what do you expect the guy to say? This is a dude who asks questions for a living 😂>> <<@Bandana_Boi says : I love the number of volunteers versus number of patrons. That translates to lots & lots of $$ coming in and we didn't pay a single one of you suckers.>> <<@stoneworx09 says : Sooky sooky roy boy>> <<@admandrums says : Imagine the U.S. open being won by a Saudi.>> <<@lesbo37 says : Bryson and his YT channel has changed the perspective on him and really undermined what the mainstream coverage wanted his narrative to be. Feels like Rory playing the good little corporate shill and attacking other players around the LIV stuff has achieved the exact opposite for him. He has looked like a real snake lately which was never the image he'd crafted for himself. It's been one of the great combination of heel/face turns in sporting history, even the WWE struggles to script that level of redemption and self destruction.>> <<@TOTOFUN69 says : Total nonsense about the course. Too many shots were playing from areas that are like GUR (ground-under-repair). Those areas should be only be in play when you are more wayward on the hole. The run-off area on 5th on Friday grabbing the balls of scheff, Xander & Rory was a farce. Scheff ball landed softly on the green and gets punished into GUR. The inconsistency of lies in those GUR areas is ridiculous. You can’t practice for that. I hope to not see the GUR so close to the greens and fairways in the future at Pinehurst #2.>> <<@bencivelli4319 says : But Rory got three birties on though holes that put him in that situation. He was due for a bogey but not three. It happens for a reason. Both champions>> <<@Chip_in says : Liv it up ⛳>> <<@stevenromero1204 says : Congratulations, now go back and play for the Saudis and second rate LIV...the PGA is American golf. USA USA USA!>> <<@24Hourmotocrossworldrecord says : I like Rory...or did...... The fact he never waited to congratulate Bryson ........ disgusting sportsmanship.....he can choke on all the dick's ever. ... So sad.>> <<@jackmundo4043 says : Poor Rory, he should have won.>>
