However, Nelly is still probably the best golfer on the LPGA. That is saying something. US OPEN courses have made some of the best golfers in the world look bad. Nelly was probably in store for a slight bad run after a huge winning streak. It is hard to be perfect in the US OPEN. It may be that Nelly was trying to hard to be perfect. In the US Open you usually have to try to hit to avoid the worst trouble. The rough can be thick. I remember one fairway at the US Open at the Olympic Club that was so sloped the ball would run all the way from the top to the bottom rough. If you started at the very top of the fairway, you might only go into the light rough at the bottom of the fairway. Otherwise you were in trouble. I wish Nelly the best. I saw that three shots in the water hole. For a moment I was wondering if she was playing Augusta (#12 I think or the 17th -- a par 3 island at the the TPC Sawgrass). Good luck Nelly.
