The real tragedy is the man who lost his life. Our reporters don't ask why a man is crossing a 4 lane highway to get to work at the golf course? Shouldn't there have been a better plan? What was the plan for safe access to the course? Why wasn't LMPD there to direct traffic and prevent this from happening? Since Vahalla has hosted major championships in the past and they know the challenges, why hasn't a pedestrian bridge been built over the 4 lane? What conflict of interests exist for judges, lawyers and other public servants who belong to the club and are looking to shield it from liability? Is the decreased family represented, if not why not?

Is lying on a police report a crime? Just because Scheffler won’t sue, there should be a public lawsuit because Joe citizen would have been screwed.

The cop lied shouldn't there be charges and the DA what a joke. Louisville should be off the PGA's tour.

If they never had enough evidence to proceed with a trial, they never had enough evidence to charge him in the first place. Police overreach. This is what happens when cops face no consequences or accountability for their actions. Scottie, you got out of this because of who you are. It was the right decision, but not everyone in this position gets treated fairly. I know you don't want to sue or pursue civil action, but maybe it will make them think twice about how they treat people they are sworn to "protect & serve".

The plan was to try the case with the gravamen of it being the officer's word against the golfer's.....and we all know how that was going to go. The _problem_ with all this is that the cops didn't know there was a camera across the street providing footage that would contradict their report--which, incidentally, filing a false official record is a federal felony.....but only for people the syndicate doesn't like. Scottie is being _extremely_ gracious towards these criminal actors. Cops earn the hate every single day. This event is standard operating procedure for most cops and thankfully this was dismissed. Just think if this was someone with less resources to fight back. They would most likely had to plead down to a lesser charge just to prevent spending tens of thousands in attorney fees fighting back. I have seen this happen and I have been there as well.

Is it a LMPD policy violation if an officer observes another officer committing a violation, and doesn’t report said violation?

The PGA needs to better vet the infrastructures of the metropolitan sites. There have been documented past issues with LPD. Hopefully, Louisville will not be on the PGA's site list again.

No ill will? Screw that power-tripping cop and DA with their bogus charges. Today it is Scottie Scheffler. Tomorrow it is Joe Blow who doesn't have the resources to fight.

So in other words The Cop didn't like that some one didn't BOW to his AUTHORITY and decided to make stuff up ? False reporting of a crime ? Send him down the road and let another jurisdiction deal with the problem , right ?
