But he's not supposed to need special treatment ... 100 pitches for him so give him another inning. Ok I can see that. Also lefty ace to lefty ace duel so leave him in. And yet, I knew we should have gone to the bp for the seventh. The pressure of going up against fried and the fact that the Cubs were not giving steele any runs ... I thought we were lucky to get through six with him and I would have gone to the bp. Not that that's the right call necessarily. It's May still and Steele is expected to pitch 100. He didn't make it. But going with Cuas here is like punishing Steele for not getting through 100 pitches with just 2 runs. I guess we're not going to try and steer around deficiencies just to try and keep us in a game we're losing. So with these decisions, Steele gets tagged for 5 runs instead of 2, and Cuas proves to the world that he is unreliable. and the Cubs show the world that they are still not hitting like they were in April.
