Stop comparing Scheffler to prime Tiger Woods, it's embarrassing and won't age well. At age 27 Tiger had 8 majors, Scheffler has 2.......Comparison is the thief of joy. Just let Scheffler have his moment and maybe (unlike the previous 2 years) he will be able to get a win after April in the same calendar year - something prime Tiger Woods had absolutely no problem doing.

Masters is about the only tournament to actually remove us from the troubles of pro golf. I didn’t hear or think about it. Just watched the best in the world duke it out

The front 9 was exciting, the back 9 was Scottie asserting his dominance. A pleasure to watch such flawless golf. On the other hand, seeing all the LIV players struggle was interesting. It seems 54 hole shotgun starts every 3 weeks isn't enough to keep their games sharp. The comfort of that lifestyle seems to be setting in, and comfort kills. No tears will be shed.

Scottie Scheffler has the Yips huh??😅😅 The Golf Channel and NBC Golf have an ongoing reputation of looking at tape of a Superstar golfer and point out his flaws. Speith had the Yips. Dustin Johnson had the Yips. Now they tried it on Scottie Scheffler. Scottie has the Yips. But Scottie's God is greater than the Yips.

Maybe Tiger will finally concede to retirement when he can't beat Charlie over 72 holes.

Finally, an athlete I can believe in. This guy gets it. A great golfer and competitor. A better human being. We need more Scottie Scefflers in this world, in all sports and segments of society.

What nobody is talking about while they fall over themselves to worship Tiger is his obvious use of steroids and who knows what other substance. When will commentators be honest about how flawed Tiger is and how pathetic it all is at this point?

An interesting observation is that Ludvig was 7 shots behind Scottie after the first round, because of difference in luck with the weather.

You mention there is a big gap between Scheffler and the rest of the field. That was true yesterday. It'll be interesting though to see if there is a big gap between Scheffler and Aberg going forward, including at Augusta. It looks to me that with more major experience Aberg can bridge that gap.

It certainly seems like McIlroy needs to change something, anything. He has lost mojo vs. a couple of years ago, let alone from the heater at the start of his career. He seems not to have as much flexibility in his shotmaking as some of the other top players, especially on the height of shots. What he has been doing isn't working, staying on the same path isn't going to get him where he wants to go. Homa doesn't need to work on hit attitude so much as his putting. He had as about as many good chances as Scheffler, but had a lot of misses. The ball seemed to be bad reads; his speed wasn't bad.

The Sunday setup of the course allows birdies, but there are also double bogeys lurking. Scheffler avoided the doubles and the guys who were trying to catch him didn't. Morikawa talked about being too "greedy." And that's what caught both him and Aberg at 11. I also think the greens were faster than in recent years and guys went from zooming putts by to not keeping enough speed for a putt to hold its line. On the back 9, Scheffler was hitting aggressive shots to conservative targets on the par 5 holes. On 13, he had been right twice and gotten away with it once. Today, he was clearly aiming at the back left quadrant of the green and hit it. On 15, you could see on TV that he was set up at the right side of the green and hit the ball in the bunker with his cut. Raymond Floyd used to say that bunker was a good place to be - the ball won't roll back into the water or skip over to 16 from the bunker, but a guy with a good short game can still make birdie.

Congratulations to Scottie, especially after the early season where many non stars won. Great that golf has a dominating player. Congratulations to Rex and Lav on a great week of podcasts. A golfing public service.

Good morning from Ireland, fantastic day of golf on the first 9. As a European I was rooting for Ludvig and really felt anyone of the four at the top of the leader board had a genuine chance of winning, thar all ended at 11 and 12 with the 3 doubles and Scottie was freed up and put on the afterburners. Can't wait for the PGA😊😊
