Alpine did the same because as the nose lowers under braking the flow to the floor's tunnels was reduced destabilizing the rear on corner entry. When the nose rises under acceleration the flow returns and neutralizes the balance killing the car's rotation around the corners apex. By rasing the front wing Aston has made the car more predictable on corner entry and in the transition from braking to throttle pickup, Alonso is simply able to brake deeper and accelerate sooner.>> <<@robh9577 says : Aston was running higher downforce than most at Bahrain. Both he and Lewis said that they really enjoyed their respectful battle, which was also great to hear. Sounds like McLaren need to copy AM's braking system. It was their downfall last year and it looks like it's at least partially responsible for this year's bad start.>>
