Then he spends the entire back half of the video explaining how pre-season launch is the actual "silly season" but it really doesn't make sense because none of what the teams do right now really matters, we always say that pre-season testing doesn't mean anything, and the car launches are just smoke and mirrors and marketing. Silly season is called that because it's a bunch of unexpected changes often resulting from personal disputes and petty arguments rather than official documents and performance reports. in short it's about the DRAMA. pre-season launches have no drama by design, its an ad spot on all your guys' thumbnails and a chance to get people talking about the car, regardless of whether it's about the event at which the launch took place or about the car. teams would rather we not talk as much about silly season, they would very much like us to talk about their car launches. It's all very boring until testing when you can start to make predictions. In short man, this video sucked. I got basically nothing out of it other than the tidbit about Abiteboul doing a pre-season launch without the car.
